THE DIRTY DOZEN AND CLEAN FIFTEEN

Thoughts, stories and ideas

Organic options are considered by some people as unnecessary and expensive, while others believe that the clean and healthy benefits (for us and the environment) are worth the extra money.  Luckily for us, and our wallets, The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has released lists ranking the most and least pesticide-contaminated produce. To review these lists, visit our website and read the full article and watch the video.

The Dirty Dozen

The term ‘organic’ means that the produce was grown without the use of synthetic-pesticides and GMOs, and research suggests that it is higher in nutrients, such as antioxidants. However, these twelve – The ‘Dirty Dozen’ – are conventionally grown foods that retain the highest amount of pesticides, so when possible, these are best to find organic.

Don’t skip out on buying these if you cannot afford the organic option. Keep in mind, any fruits or vegetables are better than none!
